SonicRetro

As you might be aware, the creators of the iOS/Android Sonic 1, 2 and CD remasters have recently spoken about a proof of concept that they've put together for a remastered Sonic 3 & Knuckles.  You can read about it here: hcstealth.tumblr.com/post/1003…

The sad news here is that SEGA of Japan apparently don't want to greenlight this project, for unknown reasons - which, to me and many other Sonic fans, is horrifying.  Sonic 3 & Knuckles is of course still widely regarded as the pinnacle of the Classic Sonic games and deserves the same treatment as its predecessors.

So, what can we do about this?

We've decided to start things off with a hashtag campaign on Twitter - #BringBackSonic3.  It's probably a good idea to mention SEGA of Japan's Twitter, "@ SEGA_OFFICIAL", in any Tweets as well - it's their decision to make, not SEGA of America's.

We plan on moving into a written letter campaign and possibly an online petition as well.  If a remastered Sonic 3 & Knuckles is going to have ANY chance whatsoever of seeing the light of day, it's absolutely essential that we let SEGA know how much we want it to happen.

I'll keep this page updated about the campaign as it goes on, but this is our starting point.

And please feel free to post about this on your own deviantArt page, on your social media, other Sonic forums, anywhere that you think would be interested in this - the more it spreads, the better.

So I joined this group, what kind of art can I submit?

In terms of the medium used, literally anything. We're not in the business of telling you what is and isn't art!

As far as content is concerned, we're really not too fussed! While fan characters have always been and will always remain strictly off-limits, we're not adverse to fan concepts (meaning zones, musical compositions, etc) as we know a lot of members like to flex their creativity, though we ask that they do remain relatively in keeping with what we've come to expect from the Sonic franchise.

Characters, zones, badniks - anything is fine! Just keep it classy!
